Traditional Art

The adoration of animals, particularly horses from the age of five started my love of drawing and painting animals. At Newcastle University I studied under Andrew McLaren and John Peace, developing my style rooted in traditional technique, correct proportion and accurate representation.

I gained my Degree in fine art in 1992 and started a business as a fresh faced twenty-something! Now I have exhibited across the UK and in London, New York and Dubai with work is also included in the private collections of prominent figures within the equestrian world and a smattering of Royalty. My accolades also include numerous awards from The Association of Animal Artists .

An enthusiastic, inspiring demonstrator and experienced tutor teaching at many levels with over 25 years experience within the Adult Education sector. I also demonstrate extensively for the online artist's educational company Arttutor.com and is their resident expert in animals, life drawing, acrylic painting and coloured pencil drawing.

I can offer artwork in a variety of media, from pencil and charcoal drawings to acrylic, watercolour or oil paintings, all completed from good, clear photographs.

I have a dedicated art site where you can view more work in different media and examples of the variety of subjects I have worked on via the button below.
